Missing Long Island Boy May Be With 'Suicidal' Father, Authorities Say

Authorities are searching for a 5-year-old boy who may be in danger after going missing from Long Island.

Henderson Calderon Carranza was last seen on Tuesday, July 9 in Central Islip, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse.

On that day, the boy was spotted on East Elm Street at 11 a.m. and is believed to be with his father, Jose Calderon Arias, who authorities said may be suicidal.

The two may be in a black sedan and could be headed to Houston, Texas.

Henderson, who has autism, stands at 3-foot-2 and weighs approximately 55 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes.

At the time he was last seen, he was wearing light blue shorts and a light blue shirt with a dolphin on it.

His father, 60-year-old Jose, is 5-foot-5 and weighs around 165 pounds. He also has brown hair and eyes.

Anyone with information regarding the pair’s whereabouts is urged to contact 911 or the Suffolk County Police Department’s Third Precinct at 631-854-8345.
